Before getting into my typical recap and sharing of opportunities, I wanted to dive into this statement above, as I keep landing in this conversation around the “own nothing, be happy” thing, It always leaves my ears ringing like I just signed up to go toe to toe with a heavyweight prize fighter. 💥🥊 

Over the last decade, looking at my seemingly never-ending, ever increasing overhead cost of life and business. The statement does ring true to some extent, or at least the first half of it. ha 😅 I guess we’ve come a long way from “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.”

Although the more I think about it , a lot of my favorite brands and most used products along with the companies that created them have since folded, merged or been acquired. Leaving me in the dust with no support for their previous model and reduced features or the ultimatum of update, upgrade or die. (Which is really against a personal rule of doing my best to avoid things that are rushed or forced, unless I want undesirable results.

The unsustainable rise of subscription services has been something i’ve been paying close attention to much like the increased use of AI / Automation, Blockchain, Crypto and the typical things I talk about that are quickly bleeding into my Art, Music, Fashion and Events worlds. Which I guess is somewhat good, because it reinforces the relevance of me preaching on stages of thousands about the necessity for Reimagined Ownership Models.

Between the value of a dollar decreasing, cost of living increasing alongside inflation and the rate of pay staying the same. It’s really looking rough for a lot of people right now esp. in an election year where the “New American Dream” looks more and more like leaving America… Or perhaps a political game of Human Centipede filmed like Parasite, with our patience at an all time low, causing Beef bc our our attention spans have us doing everything everywhere all at once. 😩 That said, I just hope you’re all hanging tight and making smart decisions to manage your finances in the best ways possible.

If you’re running a business, I hope you’re finding out ways to allow for greater consumer participation, as your untapped community lives within those repeat orders. The future of things is very much direct to consumer, and owning your ecosystems.

Lastly, while you can’t give yourself more willpower… You can make the Good Decisions more convenient… and the Bad ones less convenient.

Remember that you’re never too old to start over, but…you are too old to keep doing what isn’t working.
